On 27th November, 2018, Ambassador Chen Li attended 2022 Olympic Winter Games·Hebei Winter Olympic Cooperation (Finland) Promotion Conference & Zhangjiakou Winter Sports Industry Projects Signing Ceremony and gave a speech. Xu Qin, Governor of Hebei Province, Emma Terho, Coordinator for the XXIV Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022 attended and addressed the event. Nearly 100 people were present, including Susanna Rahkamo, Vice President of the Finnish Olympic Committee, Pekka Timonen, Mayor of the City of Lahti and representatives from Nordic countries’ enterprises and societies.

Ambassador Chen noted in his speech that on the occasion of 2019 China-Finland Year of Winter Sports and Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022, there are plenty of opportunities in the area of winter sports, through which China and Finland could strengthen cooperation and put forward bilateral relations. Ambassador Chen also congratulated the establishment of the friendship cities between Zhangjiakou and Lahti.

Governor Xu promoted Hebei Province as a huge market in the fields of winter sports industry and welcomed Finnish and Nordic enterprises to cooperate with local authorities in Hebei. Finnish representative Emma Terho appreciated positive efforts to China’s preparation and looked forward to seeing a successful Winter Olympic in China.

At the end of the event, Zhangjiakou Winter Sports Industry Projects Signing Ceremony was held, which was witnessed by all the guests.
