Ambassador Wang Tongqing Meets with Minister of Science and Culture Sari Multala

On 11 December, Ambassador Wang Tongqing met with Sari Multala, Minister of Science and Culture of Finland. The two exchanged views on deepening the cooperation in fields including science and culture between China and Finland.

Minister Multala noted that Finland appreciates the long and stable cooperation between Finland and China. She highlighted that both countries have restarted cooperation in science and education after COVID-19 pandemic and carried out frequent interactions between universities and research institutes. She pointed out the Finland wishes to promote dialogue and cooperation with China in fields where both sides have shared interests.

Ambassador Wang noted that China-Finland relations have been stable and constructive for long. He emphasized that the bilateral people-to-people exchanges have been continuously advancing and deepening the mutual understanding, trust and friendship between the two peoples, laying a solid basis for the development of China-Finland relations. He highlighted the recent success of the 20th China-Finland Joint Committee Meeting on Scientific and Technological Cooperation and the Fifth China-Finland High-Tech Matchmaking Event, which well reflected the great prospects and potentials of the bilateral scientific and technological cooperation. Ambassador Wang highlighted that China respects culture diversity and culture uniqueness, values the development of culture and arts, and stands ready to deepen exchanges and cooperation with Finland in various fields in the spirit of openness, inclusiveness and mutual learning.
