The Chinese Embassy in Finland Hosted the Reception in Celebration of 70th Anniversary of China-Finland Governmental Trade Agreement

    On June 5, the Chinese Embassy in Finland hosted the reception in celebration of 70th anniversary of China-Finland governmental trade agreement and the trade and investment seminar with the theme of “Remembering 70 Years of Win-Win Cooperation and Going Forward Hand-in-Hand for the Future”. Chinese Ambassador Wang Tongqing delivered a keynote speech on behalf of the Chinese government. Mr. Ville Skinnari, Minister for Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade of Finnish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Petri Peltonen, Under-Secretary of State of Finnish Ministry of Economic Affairs,Ms. Nina Kopola, Director General of Business Finland, Mr.Jyir Häkämies, Director General of Confederation of Finnish Industries and Mr.Esko Aho, Former Prime Minister gave their speeches respectively. Nearly 100 representatives from Finnish government, enterprises and Chinese organizations attended the congratulatory event.

    Ambassador Wang Tongqing in his speech reviewed the fruitful outcomes of China and Finland in bilateral trade, two-way investment, strategic synergy and connectivity over the past seven decades and pointed that the two countries may leverage respective strengths and create more convergences of interests and growth of cooperation thanks to their strong complementarities and great potentials. Ambassador Wang emphasized that the reason why China-Finland economic and trade relations withstood multiple challenges and realized a remarkable development is that both countries have stood committed to upholding the vision of cooperation based on mutual benefits, pursuing the multilateral trading system, unanimously opposing “decoupling” and “supply chain disruption” and pushing forward a stable China-Finland future-oriented cooperative partnership. It is sincerely hoped that both sides take this 70th anniversary event as an opportunity to expand cooperation across the board so as to advance the stable China-Finland future-oriented cooperative partnership and deliver more benefits to our two peoples.

    In the meantime, the participants from business circles of both countries expressed their views and shared experience under themes such as “the Latest Development of Bilateral Trade and Investment” and “Chinese Investment in Finland and its Outlook” at the seminar. All the participants unanimously expressed their willingness to further enhance bilateral cooperation in order to take China-Finland economic & trade relations into a new level. Mr. Pasi Hellman, Under-Secretary of State of Finnish Ministry for Foreign Affair also attended the event. The seminar and congratulatory event was hosted by Mr. Sun Liwei, Counsellor in charge of economic & commercial affairs of the Chinese Embassy in Finland.
